PlanMill 14.2
offers new features and enhancements as well as address known and fixed issues (Rel. January 11, 2012) PlanMill 14.2 Release Notes (Wiki - Tools - Export to PDF 

1. General features enhancements


1.1 New file upload to handle attachments/files 

  • Multiple file upload** - Allows selecting multiple files at once and uploading them simultaneously
  • Drag & Drop support* - Allows uploading files by dragging them from your desktop or file manager and dropping them on your browser window
  • Description support - Add a brief (max. 150 characters) description per uploaded file
  • Upload progress bar* - Shows a progress bar indicating the upload progress for individual files and for all uploads combined
  • Cancelable uploads** - Individual file uploads can be canceled to stop the upload progress
  • Browser supported (tested) - Google Chrome (7.0+), Mozilla Firefox (4.0+), MS Internet Explorer** (7.0+) and Safari (4.0+)
  • Misc.
    • Number of files attached per module such as Request or Sales Order is not limited anymore
    • Description field - Support for pasting images from clipboard. Currently only supported by Mozilla Firefox (7.0+).

Note: *Upload progress bar and Drag & Drop is only supported on Google Chrome (7.0+), Mozilla Firefox (4.0+) and Safari (4.0+). **MS Internet Explorer: Has no support for multiple file selection or upload progress. 

1.2 Account, Contact, Campaign, Sales Order and Invoicing

  • Account & Contact (summary pages) - New email, attachment and description related icons/tooltips allows quick view within Action, Opportunity, Request and Sales Order categories

  • Campaign - Campaign member related statuses ("Participated", "Registered" etc.) improved
  • Sales Order/Wizard - Project start date added to sales order related project wizard if creating a new project by using template
  • Sales Order - generate prices automatically from sales order items for advanced pricing scenarios (person, competence, task)
  • Sales Order - Create new Request from Sales Order summary, then account, contact and project related information will be inherited
  • Invoicing - Invoice item sorting has been improved so that invoice items are in same order in Invoice summary page and Invoice PDF.


1.3 HRM, Time, and Expense

1.4 User Interface (UI) 

  • New icons - Added a several new icons to existing buttons such as Edit, Copy, Delete, Set completed and Set accepted.
  • List view - Edit link replaced by Edit button. 


2. New enhanced add-ons 


2.1 PlanMill E-Invoice Sender - the solution to e-invoicing powered by Maventa

PlanMill E-Invoice Sender is related to PlanMill PROJECT, PSA and ERP, in cooperation with Maventa. Send e-invoices and paper invoices directly from PlanMill to your customers - this was on limited availability since 10/29/2011 and is now available to all customers who currently don't have an e-invoicing service activated through PlanMill. Benefits of e-invoices to the sender:

  • Upload attachments automatically with your e-invoice
  • Invoices have the same look and feel as seen on PlanMill
  • Fast delivery and faster payment schedules
  • No printing or mailing costs (for outside Finland, ask for availability of printing services)
  • Customer service is improved
  • Less manual work processes
  • Ability to print the entire billing service that is handled electronically
  • Invoices can be sent abroad through service (at least the print service, unless recipient can receive e-bills).

PlanMill E-Invoice Sender is a premium commercial add-on service (requires PlanMill ERP or PSA Cloud).

New Research Study: Integration of Maventa electronic invoicing web service into PlanMill Business Application Suite (Gavin Van Dok, Business Information Technology, Haaga-Helia, Helsinki, Finland and PlanMill employee).

2.2 PlanMill Appraisals

Conduct your team's performance appraisal easily! PlanMill Appraisals (Career Discussion) enables you to do a performance appraisal and obtain a review and development discussion as part of the HRM process. Integrated with other PlanMill HRM modules and data, no need to store information about people and organizational structure to different systems – the same tool is used for operative work, management, and HR processes.

This add-on is suitable for various company sizes - for a growing company (when it's not possible to invest in many systems) or a bigger one (if you're tired of hundreds of Excel sheets for the performance data each year). PlanMill Appraisals is integrated to PlanMill Business Application Suite (BAS).

2.3 CRM in your pocket - PlanMill is now on your mobile phone

Have you viewed PlanMill CRM on your mobile browsers? With PlanMill Touch on mobile devices, there's no apps required! PlanMill Touch is a corporate web-based solution optimized for touch screen mobile devices such as Apple iPhone (iOS 4+), Android (2.1+), Meego Harmattan (N9), Symbian (3), and Windows Phone (7+), allowing view and search for information from PlanMill such as actions, accounts, contacts, requests, projects, and opportunities.
